Universal Medical Mission Celebrates President Dr. Jacqueline Gaymes-Jones on Prestigious Humanitarian Honor

Universal Medical Mission proudly celebrates our Founder and President, Dr. Jacqueline Gaymes-Jones, who was recently honored by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Girls’ High School Alumni New York for her outstanding contributions as a dentist, humanitarian, and community leader.

This recognition reflects decades of dedicated service, professional excellence, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others through healthcare, education, and humanitarian outreach.

A Lifetime of Service

For more than three decades, Dr. Gaymes-Jones has served patients through her dental practice in Irvington, New Jersey, while simultaneously dedicating countless hours to humanitarian efforts both in the United States and throughout the Caribbean. According to the recognition presented by the Alumni Association, her commitment to service extends far beyond the walls of her dental office.

Throughout her career, Dr. Gaymes-Jones has participated in and led medical outreach missions that have provided healthcare services, dental treatment, medications, health screenings, and other essential resources to underserved communities. Her work has impacted individuals and families in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Haiti, Grenada, Belize, Jamaica, and beyond.

Honoring Her Vincentian Roots

Born and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Gaymes-Jones developed a passion for healthcare and community service at an early age. She often credits her father, a respected pharmacist, as one of her greatest inspirations. His dedication to serving the community helped shape her understanding of healthcare as a calling rather than simply a profession.

That passion led her from St. Vincent to Canada and eventually to the United States, where she pursued her education with determination and perseverance. After beginning her healthcare journey as a dental hygienist, she continued her studies and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree before completing advanced clinical training through a General Practice Residency at Columbia University.

Building a Legacy Through Universal Medical Mission

One of Dr. Gaymes-Jones’ most impactful accomplishments has been the establishment of Universal Medical Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health outcomes through medical missions, health education, community outreach, and the distribution of medical supplies.

Since its inception, Universal Medical Mission has worked to address healthcare disparities by bringing together physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, public health professionals, and volunteers who share a common vision of service. Through collaborative outreach efforts, the organization has helped provide care, education, and support to communities both locally and internationally.

During her acceptance remarks, Dr. Gaymes-Jones reflected on her years of volunteer service and humanitarian outreach, highlighting the continued mission of Universal Medical Mission to provide medical supplies and assistance to those in need in both the United States and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

The honor bestowed upon Dr. Gaymes-Jones is a testament to the countless lives she has touched through her leadership, compassion, and commitment to service. Whether providing dental care, organizing medical missions, supporting disaster relief efforts, or mentoring others, she has consistently demonstrated what it means to serve with purpose.
